Providing the essential knowledge required to handle child protection issues in the workplace.
Child abuse is the physical or physiological mistreatment of a child by his or her parents (including adoptive parents), guardians, or other adults. While this term emphasises carrying out wrong acts, a related term is child neglect: not doing what is necessary, negligence.
This training is for employees who work with children and young people and helps them recognise and understand all indicators of potential child abuse and neglect.
Providing guidelines around how abuse should be identified and reported, this course is mapped to the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) induction standards 3.4, 3.5, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and meets the Care Council for Wales Social Care Induction Framework 3.3, 4.2.9.
