Maintaining the Safety and Security of Children
This title looks at the safety and security needs of children in group
childcare settings. It identifies potential dangers in both the indoor and
outdoor environment, shows how to prevent accidents and helps you to
increase the children's awareness of safety issues.
To
provide a safe environment for children you must: ensure that the
environment and equipment is checked for safety; know how to supervise
children's safety and encourage them to be aware of their own safety; know
why accidents happen and how to prevent them; understand the safety issues
when taking children out of the setting.
