There are no formal entry requirements. Keyboarding skills would be an advantage but not essential.

Course programme
The course will cover the practical skills required to use Sage accounting software at level 1.
The course consists of:
- Adding new accounts to purchase/sales ledgers.
- Creating accounts in the nominal ledger from given information.
- Processing information in respect of the purchase and sales ledgers, ie invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts involving different Tax Rates.
- Processing Capital, Cash and Cheque payments and receipts.
- Calculating and reconciling all batch totals as required.
- Printing out copies of customer/supplier details, ledgers, and trial balance as required.
Students sit the City and Guilds (previously Pitman) Computerised Accounts Level 1 examination at the end of the course. The course should adequately prepare students for the Level 2 course and will also be useful to those seeking employment in a book-keeping role.
