Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You should enjoy a practical approach to learning and be able to work independently when required, you should also have good personal organisation skills. The ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks are essential. A basic familiarity with Information Communication Technologies (ICT) would also be an advantage.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be by a series of multiple choice tests and structured papers in addition to coursework.

What can I do afterwards?
Successful completion could lead to both Advanced level GCE and Vocational courses, including the new BTEC National Award and Certificate. The course also provides a basis for further work-based training and Apprenticeships. Alternatively, the course can be used to make up an incomplete GCSE set of results for continuation to programs outside Science.
