Course programme

This course progressively leads you to the standards required of a newly qualified teacher. In the first year, you will develop a deep understanding of the key scientific ideas that underpin secondary science education with particular emphasis on physics and the mathematics that supports this. Alongside this you develop your academic study skills and begin to think critically about teaching and learning using ideas from educational theory. The second year builds on your ideas about physics, further developing these and your mathematics, as well as looking at ideas about academic research and inclusive practice. The final year is built around school placements and a research based educational dissertation.
