About this course

CompTIA Security+ ensures an IT professional has the knowledge and skills to:

Install and configure systems to secure applications, networks, and devices;
Perform threat analysis and respond with appropriate mitigation techniques;
Participate in risk mitigation activities;
Operate with an awareness of applicable policies, laws, and regulations.

The CompTIA Security+ training program certifies aptitude and proficiency in the field of: network infrastructure, system security, organizational security, and access control. The course covers the topics such as threats, attacks and vulnerabilities; technologies and tools; architecture and design; identity and access management; risk management; cryptography and PKI. The certification provides knowledge and skills to support the principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability required to protect your network from threats and attacks.

While there are no official prerequisites for the SY0-501 exam, CompTIA recommend candidates have completed the Network+ syllabus and have a minimum of two years experience in IT administration with a focus on security.

On completion of the Security+ Online Course you can apply for the Security+ SY0-501 Examination.

Assessment:
Assessment is from the CompTIA Security+ Certification SY0-501 Examination. The Examination has a maximum of 90 questions in a multiple choice and performance-based questions over a 90 minute period. The Exam is graded on a scale of 100 - 900 with a minimum passing score of 750.
