Professional Makeup Artists seeking to add to their portfolio basic hairstyling skills for TV, Film, Fashion, Editorial work.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?Relevant makeup industry experience is required to demonstrate good manual dexterity.
What will I study ?Setting hair using heated methods, dressing hair into a minimum of three styles using techniques, products and tools suitable for session work that require quick but effective hair styles.
How will I be assessed ?College certificate. No national occupational standard assessment required. Verbal questions will be asked throughout the day to check learning and each student will receive verbal feedback from the lecturer for each hair style produced.
What qualifications could I achieve ?A college certificate.
How do I join the course ?Complete an application.
Will I need an interview ?Yes, makeup artist industry evidence should be shown at interview to demonstrate good manual dexterity.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?Students are required to bring a selectionof hairstyling tools and a hair block. Students may also bring their own ornamentation if they would like to have this included in the day. Tools to be advised at interview.
Further InformationFull cost course. Students are required to wear plain black clothing, flat shoes and a disposable apron.
