Course review:

This evening class running for five weeks is designed to give you the basics of sewing, dressmaking and tailoring in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We will be taking on a small project to increase your confidence and teach you some new skills.

We'll be looking at a lot of fabrics and discussing what's suitable for different projects. Later we’ll open up a sewing machine to get a feel for them. We'll learn how to thread them and how to set the tension. There's two basic stitches, straight and zig zag, both of which we'll be using to start off a small project which you'll be able to take home with you by the end of the course. Previous projects have included cushion covers and silk slippers.

By the end of the course you will be able to confidently use a sewing machine, sew on a button and take up a pair of trousers.

Included in the price are materials, use of sewing machines and refreshments.
