Course programme

This is a unique course aimed at students aged 14 to 100. Here you will learn the basics in the application of Secial Effects Makeup (blood, guts & gore) for TV/Film & Theatre. This advanced beginners course will arm you with skills and techniques to recreate realistic looking wounds used in the above industries. Upon completion of this short course you will recieve a Blazing Sables certificate of completion. You will also have gained the neccessary skills required to confidently recreate authentic looking wounds, a portfolio of photographs and knowledge of products & tools.

Progression: After this course some students go on to advanced levels of SFX with the aim to specialise in this area of the industry as a SFX Makeup Artist. Other students include directors who want to make a short film and apply the makeup themselves. Other students may add these techniques to their existing mobile/freelance business. And some students may just want to learn how to do these techniques for personal reasons.

This course is open to both male & female learners who are interested in this type of makeup application

Additional information

Payment options: 50% payable at interview with the balance due in-full 1 week prior to course commencement. Balances paid after this time will only be accepted in cash. No course place will be held until full payment has been made
Comments: We only accept 8 - 10 students per class/course so that we can deliver excellent one-on-one expert tuition. We are NOT interested in packing out our classes with maximum amounts of students; therefore, students book their place early to avoid the waiting list ... This particular course will only run during the UK academic half term holidays. Therefore, if you do not manage to get on the summer classes, then the next SFX course will run in October for one (1) week
Career opportunities: At this level of SFX education you will be able to add your skills to your existing or new mobile/freelance business. Alternatively, you can continue your SFX education by attending advanced intermediate levels if you want to become a Makeup Artist and work in the industry
