Course programme

This course is ideal for both beginners and those with some previous experience of working with precious metals.

The course will introduce you to silversmithing technique, tools and equipment whilst making items such as rings, pendants, brooches, ear rings, chains etc.

Students will be directed to hand make certain objects within the sessions but can adopt these into more personal objects.

Those students with some experience will be able to make functional or sculptural objects of their choice working with the tutor to enhance the design making and decorating process.

Due to the dramatic rise in the cost of precious metals students will be expected to order their own silver. Very small quantities can be purchased and delivered, dependent on your designs and budget. The tutor will advise on these details at the start of the course.

All students will be able to take their final pieces home with them.
