This three-day intensive course provides a practical, work-based introduction to how UN human rights may be used successfully in a domestic setting.
This human rights course provides:
a stimulating learning environment that involves collaboration with other delegates and course leaders, particularly through practical real-life examples
an opportunity to learn from experts who have successfully used UN human rights
an interactive mix of theory and mock scenarios designed to simulate real-life use of UN human rights

The course covers the following topics:
Mapping UN Human Rights
Introduces the UN human rights system and explores the relevance of UN human rights in a domestic setting.
Discuss with UN human rights experts the importance of UN human rights at the domestic level.
Consider, through a networking event, how UN human rights may be used to enhance your work.
UN Human Rights Treaty System
Focuses on how the UN human rights treaty system works in practice and the skills and strategies needed for the effective use of the treaties and associated institutions and mechanisms.
Be guided by experts on how to use the UN human rights treaty system in your work through real-life scenarios and expert testimony.
UN Human Rights Charter System
Builds on the treaty system by developing the skills and strategies required for effective use of the UN human rights charter system through interactive discussion and group work with experts.
Learn how to frame your issue, identify relevant law and standards and how best to access the relevant institution and mechanism.
