Who is this course for?
This course is for people interested in working within the Security Industry. The industry is governed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), and it is a legal requirement in certain professions such as CCTV control that candidates have completed the relevant training, passed the course, and have obtained a SIA License. Working Men's College offer this course as part of the Skills for Jobs programme, which means that this is a funded course. Please contact us to confirm your eligibility for this course.

What previous knowledge/experience are required?
You must be registered on either the Skills for Jobs or Response to Redundancy Programme. No previous experience is required, however you should consider your eligibility to apply for a SIA License on completion of the course. This includes your ability to provide a 5 year checkable history, Criminality check - which needs to cover 5 years, if you were outside the UK during this period you will need to obtain an overseas criminality check yourself.

What is the level of the course?
Level 2

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?
You will cover the CCTV Roles and Responsibilities Unit followed by Conflict Management. On successful completion of this course you will be able to apply for your SIA License.

What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
This is a classroom based course

There will be an examination at the end of the course to assess your understanding of each of the units.

You will receive a National Level 2 Certificate

This is down to you. Course material is available and due to the fact this is a short course and you will be examined on completion of the training, it is strongly recommended you revise the material as you go along.
