Signature Level 2 - British Sign Language

Course review:

This course is aimed mostly at people who have achieved BSL level 1 and want to progress onto Level 2. The course will also be of benefit to people working with Deaf colleagues and people with Deaf family and friends.

The curriculum ensures that students build on the knowledge and skills learnt at level 1 by widening their use of BSL grammar, and elements such as fingerspelling, facial expressions, and BSL structure and vocabulary. Similar to Level 1 the course is split into 3 units, which are:
Unit BSL201 – BSL Receptive Skills, Unit BSL202 – BSL Productive Skills, and Unit BSL203 – BSL Conversation Skills.

The themes for the qualification are: Everyday conversation, Eating and drinking, Shopping and spending, Travel and holidays. You will study the first theme ‘Everyday conversation’ and two from the other three themes.
