About this course

Learn to Design ad make desirable objects including jewellery in precious metals, copper and brass. Each student works on their own project and at their own pace.

All abilities are welcome.

Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

The maximum class size is 6, but more usually 5. The groups are small, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.

If there is a space you may join a class at anytime.
If the classes are full I will pop you on the waiting list.

the courses run for 12 weeks.

if you miss a class you can catch up on another day if there is space.

Course programme

beginners will be introduced to the basic techniques used in making silver jewellery, soldering, piercing, forming, casting and will make one or more piece of jewellery. more experienced students will determine their own designs and be helped to achieve them. the classes are in a purpose built studio in groups of 4-5. courses are 10.15am-1.15pm.
students can also do metal etching, enamelling and fold forming. from design to finished jewellery students will be enabled to transform their ideas into jewellery. we can also remake old silver and gold jewellery.
we also work in copper and brass on larger projects such as boxes, clocks and small sculpture using the same techniques.
