SIMPLE SAFETY AUDITING
Depending upon the depth of knowledge required this may be run as a one or two day course. The aim is to teach delegates the techniques necessary to enable them to audit their own organisation's health & safety policy.
While acquainting delegates with BS8800:1996 and OHSAS 18001:1999 the course will mostly follow the recommendations of HSG65, Successful Health & Safety Management.
General concepts of health & safety, including accident prevention and risk assessment, are reviewed as delegates are led to understand the value of auditing as a management tool. Practical exercises are undertaken at each stage of the process to encourage the honing of auditing skills.
An attendance certificate is awarded to persons completing the course. An assessment of competence in the form of a written examination, a multi-choice examination or a practical test may also be available.
