Course programme

Located in the heart of Downpatrick, Down Arts Centre manages the Ultimate Guide and is the operational base for the arts in Down District. Staffed by Down District Council Arts Team, the venue produces a busy programme of events all year round, as well as producing and managing the annual Opera Fringe Festival on behalf of Fringe Performances Ltd, and the Newcastle Summer Season.

The Singers' Circle

This informal class with tutor Laura Plummer is for people who enjoy singing as part of a group. There is no pressure to sing solo – unless the spirit moves you! The programme includes a selection of folk and roots music from near & far with an emphasis on harmonies. A new song is taught each week and song-sheets with guitar chords (where relevant) are provided. An optional practice CD is also available to aid memory – you don’t have to be able to read music as all the songs are taught by ear, though scores are available for harmony parts. ‘If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk you can sing’ - what are you waiting for?

Time 7.30pm – 9.30 pm
