About this course
You could progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in a related subject or undertake or work-based learning and possible employment.
You'll require GCSE English and Maths at Grades 4-3 (C-D) and you'll also have a positive interview with course staff.
You'll also attend a Skills Test day to determine your literacy and numeracy levels.

Course programme
Course elements include:
• Related aspects of health and Safety; • Information, quantities and communication with others; • Erecting of studwork; • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry; • Roofing; • Flooring and staircases.
Theoretical units will also underpin the candidates' knowledge along with an online building principles multiple-choice examination.
You will be assessed by practical assessments, unit question papers and an online multiple choice exam.
Numeracy and literacy are part of the course and you will study Functional skills Application of Number and Communication at Level 1.
