Description
The course is designed for Building Management practitioners in both the private and public sector of the economy. It is suitable for both established building site managers and those who are developing their abilities in this occupation.

You must be able to provide evidence from the workplace to achieve your NVQ through these particular areas:

Assess work methods, resources and systems to meet works requirements
Identify hazards and reduce risks
Control works and Health and Safety systems to meet project
Control project quality, progress, costs and information
Manage the performance of teams and individuals
Chair and participate in meetings
Develop constructive working relationships
Enable the development of self and others

Optional Units; Manage materials, plant and equipment on site.

What will I study?
To achieve this qualification managers have to provide satisfactory evidence of their management and technical knowledge and competence in the work place and ability in manage a building operation. Therefore there is no formal study.

How will I learn?
Attendance at College will be an initial introduction to the course, periodical tutorials and any underpinning knowledge requirement. With is in mind an Assessment/Training plan will be developed by the course tutor who will then design the course to meet the individuals needs.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be carried out in the work place or/and by portfolio of evidence collected by the candidate and presented to the tutor for assessment.

Where could it lead?
This course leads to the possibility of progressing on to a Foundation Degree in Management or a Foundation Degree in other construction areas.
