About this course
Learning outcomes of the Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme
The SSSTS course will discuss what is expected of you and how your duties will contribute to the safety of the workplace.
By the end of the classroom course, you will be able to:
Understand the health and safety problems within the industry.
Understand how health and safety law is structured and how it applies to site supervisors.
Identify how a supervisory role fits in with the management structure in controlling site safety.
Carry out risk assessments and understand the need for method statements.
Carry out effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings.
Monitor site activities effectively.
Understand the importance of timely intervention and identify bad practices.
Recognise when a site is safe, efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly.
Our Site Supervisor Course is designed for site managers, agents, and other construction industry professionals. These people may have responsibility for planning, organising, controlling, monitoring, and administering groups of workers.
The SSSTS course is aimed at people who have – or expect to acquire – supervisory responsibilities in the construction industry.
Your SSSTS certificate is valid for five years. However, we recommend taking a refresher course every three years to keep up with any changes in technology, environmental management, cultural behaviour, and legislation.
