Course programme
Introduction
During this Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) course, candidates will be able to build on their existing knowledge of the Six Sigma Black Belt course.
Pre-Requisites
- Individuals will need to be trained to Black Belt level, prior to attending this course.
- Candidates need to bring a laptop/computer, with installation of Minitab 17 (evaluation version acceptable) to the course.
Who Should Attend
- Anybody with Black Belt experience looking to build on their existing knowledge should attend this course.
Qualification
- A certificate of achievement will be issued to every candidate who achieves 70% in the total course assessment.
Course Outline
- How can an organisation develop, and more importantly, sustain the Culture of Lean 6 Sigma within an organisation?
- What strategies could be used to grow a Six Sigma capability?
- Timescales & leading change
- Leadership: How good am I at being a leader?
- Additional statistics: More complex SPC modelling techniques including multi-linear and polynomial regression
- How Toyota does lean: The 4Ps and the “Toyota Way”
- Elements of Programme Management: including estimation, risk, and planning techniques, Value propositions
- Beyond Lean 6 Sigma: TPM, DFSS, Formal Kaizen
The Six Sigma Master Black Belt course is delivered over 6 weekends: Week 1 Saturday & Sunday, Week 2 Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Week 3 Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Week 4 Saturday & Sunday, Week 5 Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Week 6 Saturday & Sunday
Exercises
- Throughout this course, candidates will be expected to work with case studies to plan and respond to typical challenges which MBBs see in their working lives.
Evening work
- Approximately 2-3 hours each evening consisting of a mixture of revision, research and exercises
Assessment
- Assessment is a combination of course exercises and a final exam.
- Some course exercises carry assessment points, in total this is 50% of the total available.
- The other 50% is awarded by exam score with the exam taken on the final day.
