This course will give you the opportunity to learn new skills, improve your literacy and numeracy, build confidence, and help you become more independent You'll do practical and theory-based subjects in and out of the classroom You'll also get lots of experience with 'vocational' subjects which will help when it comes to applying for jobs or continuing to another course

Course programme
This programme is designed to address the needs of the learners, and to provide them with a good basis to progress onto a higher level course (and for future life) Students working at this level are likely to have significant personal and social difficulties Students get the choice of taking a vocational pathway or an independent living pathway
How will I be assessed?Through a programme of observations, a small portfolio of assignments, and functional skill tests
What may it lead to?At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to progress to an Entry 3 course or go into employment
Entry RequirementsThere are no formal entry requirements However, you will be assessed to identify your individual support needs (during your transition to College)
Additional Information & Other CostsThis course is normally free for students under 19 years old and may also be free for those in receipt of government benefits There will be supported work experience opportunities on the College campus
