Good numeracy and literacy skills are a vital part of any job. Whether it is using a till, dealing with a customer or reading a health and safety sign, a lack of knowledge in either numeracy or literacy can have a detrimental effect on both employers and employees alike.
Our Skills for Life programme provides a range of courses which fill in gaps in a candidates knowledge and so brings basic skills up-to-scratch. This has the effect of improving confidence, capabilities and efficiency.
Employers:
Poor literacy and numeracy skills amongst your staff could be costing your business money. The Skills for Life training programme will help your employees improve the literacy and numeracy skills they need to work effectively.
Using computer based diagnostic learning tools, we can establish weak areas in an employee's skill range and tailor make a learning plan to suit their individual needs, so they only spend time learning what they need to…
and best of all it costs you nothing!
How It Works:
The candidate will be initially assessed to find out their current skill levels in both numeracy and literacy. Once these have been established and the candidate decides on which subject they wish to pursue first. Then, a computer based diagnostic will be completed which will establish the candidates skills gaps, from this a learning plan will be structured which makes sure they are only having to learn the elements of the subject they need to know - and not going over subjects they already have knowledge of. This process optimises the time spent training to the benefit of everyone involved.
The candidate will then work their way through their learning plan updating their skills. At the end of the learning plan, the candidate may, if they wish, attempt a City & Guilds Qualification to confirm their improved level of competence.
