Are you fed up of being bossed around by your superiors every day?
Maybe you long to go self-employed and start up your own business.
The unique course is aimed at anyone who has started up a small business recently - or who is planning to do so. It teaches vital principles that can help to ensure success.
Do you want to go self-employed? To start up your own business?
The rewards are great. You can earn more. You can be your own boss. You can work when you want, and how you want.
But it's risky. Many people try it - and fail.
Our Small Business Start-up course could make the difference between success and failure.
It's been written by someone who has 'been there and done it' - and is still having to make it happen today.
Cleland Thom started his business in 2002 with a budget of zero. In five years, the company has:
Become so big it's had to be divided into three
Attracted more than 2,000 new clients from scratch - including some of the UK's biggest companies and authorities
Got to the TOP of Google page 1 (it's still there now! Do a Google web search under Online journalism courses)
Seen its income quadruple
Become one of the UK's most successful distance learning organisations
Has clients in more than 40 countries
What was the secret? Cleland says: "We broke just about every rule in the book - and still do. Other businesses scratch their heads and wonder how we manage it!
"It's not as hard to be successful as you think. But it's vital you get good advice. There's a lot of junk out there!
"You will find any number of books and courses that say that you can become a millionaire in two years, or that give to Ten Steps to Instant Prosperity!
"Don't believe a word of them. They're unreal. Our course is a reality-check - but it does work. It will either show you why you CAN become a success - or why you'll NEVER be one!"
In this course, Cleland will share some of the principles that worked for him - and that will work for you.
He will be your personal mentor during the course - and afterwards, too, if you still want his input.
So this course is NOT one where you get a book to read and are left to get on it. You will have personal guidance and advice, every step of the way...
What have you got to lose? Not a lot. But you could stand to gain a great deal ...

How long will the course take?
It's up to you. You can work at your own speed, and fit your studies around your other commitments. But as a rough guide, this course takes around three to six months to complete.
Who is my mentor?
Your tutor will be Cleland Thom, who is recognised as one of the UK's leading trainers.
How does the course work?
We will send teaching modules as email attachments, one Module at a time. Most Modules are accompanied by exercises and assignments. You will study the Module, email us with any queries and then complete the exercises and assignments.
You email your assignment to us for marking. It will be marked and emailed back to you with a Grade, comments and advice.
When you have passed the Module, you will be sent the next one, and so on, until you finish the course.
What are the exercises and assignments like?
The exercises are 'home-based' so you can do them on screen, or print them off.
Assignments are practical - you will have to perform certain tasks that will be related to the starting of your business.
How is work assessed?
Each assignment will be graded between A and E. To achieve a pass, you must get C or above. If you fail, we will help you revise your work until it is good enough to pass.
Is there any support?
Yes, you can email Cleland any time - as often as you need to. We guarantee to respond within two working days, although it is usually much quicker. We will phone you if there is an issue that cannot be dealt with by email.
What equipment do I need?
Access to a computer with internet facilities, Microsoft Word software (or equivalent), and an email account. Some of our students study in internet cafes and libraries if they do not have their own equipment. Don't let anyone kid you that you need pots of cash to start a business. You don't!
Do I need any skills or qualifications to enrol?
The course is open to anybody who wants to start a business or go self employed. It doesn't matter if you're not sure what you want to do yet. All you need is bags of enthusiasm and ambition.
What qualifications will I get?
The CTJT diploma, which is accredited by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council.
What is this qualification worth?
The Diploma is widely recognised, mainly due to the large number of organisations where we have delivered training courses and have personal contacts.
What can I expect to do at the end of the course?
The course will provide you with the essential principles for starting your own business. After that - it's up to you
But we will invite you to join our Golden Circle, which means that you will have Cleland and a team of experts to help you during those early days
When can I start?
Any time you like - straight away if you want to!
Do I have to sign anything?
Yes, we ask you to accept our Student Learning Agreement. This is binding on you - and us, so we both know where we stand. Please read the SLA carefully before you enrol.
