Working with children and families is a highly specialised and skilled area of social work. To be effective, social workers need to be flexible, knowledgeable and highly mindful of many aspects of the family and the obstacles to be encountered working with them. This course will aim to introduce you to the structure of the family, and teach you to take the necessary factors into consideration, as well as the procedures involved and the proper course of action when working with children and families in a social work context. Module 3 – The Process of Social Work with Children and Families
- Explain the process of social work in terms of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation

Module 4 – Direct Work with Children and Young People in the Family
- Identify values and knowledge required for direct work with children and young people
