Solar Water Heating Systems
SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS

COURSE OUTLINE
Day 1

1600 onwards - arrival. Please ask at reception or in the restaurant for directions to your room.
1800 Supper in restaurant.
1900 Introduction to the course and each other. Visit solar pavilion.

Day 2
0830 Breakfast in restaurant.
0915 Solar resource. Orientation. Assessment of hot water usage. Collector types. Collector and storage sizing.
1100 Coffee in restaurant.
1130 Practical session. Build three different systems: tubes with sealed system, flat plate with drain-back, flat plate with thermosyphon.
1300 Lunch in restaurant.
1400 Practical session, continued.
1600 Tea in restaurant.
1630 Practical session, continued.
1800 Supper in restaurant.

Day 3
0830 Breakfast in restaurant.
0915 System types - pros and cons. Grants and legislation.
1100 Coffee in restaurant.
1130 Site tour.
1230 Practical session. Compare the different systems.
1300 Lunch then depart.

FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
The course fee covers full board accommodation at CAT, tuition and course materials. All food is vegetarian, and we are happy to cater for special diets - please let us know your requirements when booking.
