There are always problems and decisions to be made in Management. This one day course is designed for practicing or potential First Line Managers who want to build their understanding of the nature, scope and impact of problems. Candidates will learn how to gather and interpret information. They will understand ways to resolve problems effectively through their decision making. Candidates will also learn how to plan the implementation and communication of decisions.

Day 1

ü How to calculate and use simple averages and basic summary statistics.

ü How to prepare and use grouped data and tables.

ü Interpretation of charts and diagrams.

ü Methods of indexing, referencing and structuring qualitative information.

Day 2

ü How to solve problems through evaluating options.

ü The importance of adequate and relevant information in decision-making.

ü Decision making techniques.

ü How to plan the implementation and communication of decisions.

ü Effective presentation of facts and evidence of a case.

ü How to evaluate outcomes of problem solving activities through monitoring and review techniques.
