This course aims to prepare students to work as a freelance sound artist and/or part of the sound department in the film and games industries. It will also prepare you for a career in related industries such as radio, TV and theatre. This is a much in-demand discipline within the creative industries and has excellent job prospects.
Sound Design involves preparing all aspects of a soundtrack including dialogue, ambience, sound effects, Foley and music; synchronising them to the image; creating submixes; final mixing and mastering.
The course will give you practical experience and inside knowledge in terms of:
Industry workflows and procedures
Recording (in studios and on location)
Editing, mixing and mastering audio
Using sound libraries and creating your own
Creating sound and music for a range of media, in collaboration with students and experts from other disciplines (e.g. film, games, animation, radio, theatre)
