Sound Design for Installation in a day

Since Susan Phillipz won the Turner Prize in 2010, for a work rendered only in sound, the use of sound by artists has expanded. A gallery that doesn’t consider sound installation in 2016 is rare. And yet many artists are tentative about working in sound.

Course Outcomes

You will have developed an understanding of the technical processes involved with creating sound for galleries and installation. Understand how the elements of sound work and the process of creating sound intersect. Understand the equipment and software available to start creating a work in sound, and leave with your own sound work that you are able to discuss.

Who Should Attend

Any artist or creative looking to understand sound and its intersection with gallery and installation. You should have some willingness to understand technology, however low tech approaches are welcome.
