Spa and Therapies Management Foundation Degree

Course content:
Foundation Degrees are new employment related Higher Education qualifications, designed to equip learners with the specialist technical knowledge and transferable skills that today's employers are looking for, especially at a higher technical level. Studying for a Foundation Degree at Aylesbury College combines the ease and flexibility of studying in our state-of-the-art facilities with the opportunity to gain a university degree, validated through our university partner Buckinghamshire New University. This course offers therapists the opportunity to develop skills in business in order to progress into management within the spa and related industries.

• Marketing and Sales.

Special course features:
This course introduces learners to work with businesses on real life projects.

Time commitment:
Over two to three days a week with up to 13 hours contact time. You will also be required to study independently both researching and completing assignment work a minimum of 12 hours self directed study is recommended. You are also required to carry out commercial work experience to support your learning.

Assessment:
Each module is continually assessed via individual assignments, portfolios, presentations, report writing, work based projects and time-constrained assignments.

Entry requirements:

Additional information:
Learners will need to purchase text books at a cost of approximately £100. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £190.

Progression:
One year professional studies course converts to a full Honours Degree.
