Course programme

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS WORKSHOP
The workshop investigates the causes and symptoms of special educational needs, as well as their identification and the educational implications of working with those young children affected. It also focuses on the following aspects of special needs: physical and sensory disabilities; challenging behaviour; speech; language; learning difficulties. SEN students working towards the Stage 2 Certificate are guided in preparation for the final written examination.

Compulsory for MCI Special Educational Needs Course students who are working towards their Stage 2 Certificate. Also strongly recommended for Infant Toddler students and practising teachers.

Number of contact hours: 30 over 6 days. Time of lectures: 10 am - 4 pm. Students have the opportunity to accrue up to a maximum of 15 hours extra by practising with the Montessori materials for a maximum of 3 hours per day, outside of lecturing hours.
