• An increased understanding of the assumptions made in the use of SSTM, and the level and types of evidence used to support and refute its use
• An increased understanding of the physiological and biomechanical models that underpin the use of SSTM
• An increased understanding of the principles and practice of SSTM techniques to the lower limb
• An increased understanding of the synthesis between SSTM and other related therapeutic approaches
