Unit 4 Preparation for Sport
This unit will give learners an insight into the essential preparation required for successful sports performance. You are expected to investigate the fitness level and lifestyle of an individual and administer a range of simple field tests of physical fitness. This will enable students to discuss the effects of lifestyles on sports performance. Learners are encouraged to look at different methods of fitness training for each of the components of physical fitness and plan a fitness training programme for a selected individual.
Unit 5 Planning and Leading Sports Activities
This unit introduces learners to the skills, techniques and knowledge required when leading sports, recreational and play activities. The unit provides a foundation and an opportunity for learners who wish to lead or assist practical activities within the community, voluntary clubs, schools, leisure centre, play scheme or outdoor education centre.
Unit 6 Practical Sport
The focus of this unit is on improving and developing learners' own practical performance as well as examining that of other athletes. Learners will be able to apply skills, techniques and tactics in a game or individual performance. The unit focuses on the practical aspect of sport, and the sports studied can be chosen from a range of team, racket and/or individual sports.
