The Activity framework is designed for those individuals who wish to gain a broad, but solid foundation to allow them to follow a career in outdoor sector or in the activity leisure sector as fitness leaders, coaches and activity leaders

Course programme

In order to achieve a full Apprenticeship you must successfully complete the different parts of the framework over 12 to 15 months. This consists of sector related industry qualifications Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership To achieve the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership (QCF), learners must achieve 25 credits from the 6 mandatory units plus a minimum of 2 units from the optional units available. Mandatory units Prepare for activity sessions ( 4 credits) Lead activity sessions ( 9 credits) Conclude and review activity sessions ( 4 credits ) Support the work of the team and organisation ( 2 credits) Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation ( 4 credits) Support equality and diversity in active leisure and recreation ( 2 credits) The Optional units are chosen by the employer to reflect your job role Optional units Contribute to participants’ personal and social development (5 credits) Contribute to participants’ exploration and understanding of the natural environment (4 credits) Administer finance and information (3 credits) Contribute to joint working with other organisations (4 credits) Support the development of the sport or activity (2 credits) Look after participants when they are away from home (6 Credits) Enable disabled people to take part in activities (9 credits) Contribute to adventurous activities ( 8 credits) Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation (ICS) (5 credits) Contribute to environmental conservation in active leisure and recreation (6 credits ) Set up, take down and store activity equipment (3 credits) Check and service activity equipment ( 3 credits) Technical Certificate in Level 2 Certificate in Increasing Participation in Sport and Activity Leisure in Community settings. Functional Skills qualifications: Level 1 Functional Skill in English Level 1 Functional Skill in Maths + Employment Rights and Responsibilities + Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.
