About the Course
This course is designed for people who would like to coach, teach and instruct in sports other than football. You will be based at College but will also be expected to work in after school clubs at local schools. Once you are showing competence you will be expected to work alongside coaches in the community.
You must be prepared to work in after school settings, at weekends and possibly school holidays, in fact whenever sports coaching sessions might take place.
There are 5 mandatory units
D43 Plan and prepare a series of coaching sessions
D44 Maintain an environment in which participants can improve their performance
D45 Coach participants to improve their performance
D416 Evaluate coaching sessions and develop personal coaching practice
C35 Deal with accidents and emergencies
Additional Unit
C36 Support the protection of children from abuse
Course Aims
To develop experience and underpinning knowledge in a variety of sports in respect of coaching, teaching and instructing in preparation for a career as a Coach, Teacher or Instructor.

This is a 1 year practical course with no exams. You will be assessed in work based competencies.
Fees
No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
What next?
Sport specific coaching qualifications at Level 2 Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, or progress to Level 3 course.
