Why choose this course? Sport is a serious business. Anyone that witnessed or read about the outputs from London’s Olympic Games will be only too aware of that. The sector is very significant globally. In Wales alone, spending on sports related goods and services adds up to £707 million and accounts for 2.3% of total consumer expenditure.

For many, it’s also an opportunity to build a rewarding career out of their life passion, whether that be a coach, manager or broadcaster. Latest available employment figures suggest that there are 22,300 employed in the Skills Active sectors in Wales, 28% of which are managers and senior officials. Further 24% of employers report vacancies in the workforce, making it a very attractive employment route for graduates.

Whatever your ambition in the world of sport, you will need a good business head on your shoulders. That is why this degree is so important for anyone thinking of a career in the industry. We ground our students with leadership and management knowledge within a sporting context.

What’s more, we provide all students with the placement opportunities that could lead to meaningful employment. We can do this because of our extensive professional network, including the university's Racecourse football and rugby stadium.

We are passionate about excellence for all of our students and that is reflected in their grades. In the first semester of the 2015/16 academic year, more than 85% of North Wales Business School students achieved a 2:1 or above, which is higher than the national average and proves that our focus is not only on delivering cutting-edge and relevant degrees, but also supporting our students to gain the best possible results.
