TOPIC 3: METAPHYSICS OF GOD

  • Arguments relating to the existence of God
  • Religious Language
TOPIC 4: METAPHYSICS OF MIND
  • What do we mean by mind?
  • Dualist theories
  • Physicalist theories
  • Functionalism
Assessment

To achieve the full Philosophy A Level you will be assessed across the four sections. All units will be assessed by two paper-based examinations:

Paper 1: Epistemology and Moral Philosophy

  • Type: Written examination
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Assessed: Topics 1 and 2
  • Assessment format: Five questions on epistemology and five questions on moral philosophy

Paper 2: The metaphysics of God and the metaphysics of Mind

  • Type: Written examination
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Assessed: Topics 3 and 4
  • Assessment format: Five questions on the metaphysics of God and five questions on the metaphysics of Mind

Additional information

Students have a maximum of two years to complete. Course duration approx. 120 hours.
