This programme would suit you if you are interested in the application of science to coaching in sport. It provides a strong foundation in the current disciplines of sport science, the principles of which can be applied to the coaching elements of the programme. A main objective is to give you the skills to work effectively in a range of areas related to sports science, particularly in the coaching profession. Football club internship During all three years of the degree students will have the opportunity of a structured internship with Charlton Athletic FC in either coaching or sport science. Outcomes The aims of the programme are: To develop an enquiring analytical approach to the study of science and coaching in your chosen sport. To develop your ability to evaluate and enhance sport and performance in the field and the scientific laboratory. To develop the knowledge and skill base necessary for independent learning. To provide theoretical, practical and vocational experiences relevant to the field of study..

Typical offer: 64 points
Qualifications: three A-levels / Extended Diploma / combination of A-level and Diploma / A-levels and Extended Certificate.
Subjects:

A-level: 64 points from related subjects, e.g. biology, sports science, physical education, human biology, mathematics or physics
BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Applied Science
A-level and BTEC National: Diploma/Extended Certificate in Applied Science and 16 points from a related subject
Plus GCSEs in English language and mathematics at grade C / 4 or above. We also accept equivalent qualifications at Level 2, such as Functional Skills in mathematics and English.

We will also consider:

AS-levels along with A2-levels
Alternative qualifications at Level 3, such as OCR Cambridge Technicals, AQA Tech-level, the International Baccalaureate and Access to Science
Applications from mature students.
