Why should I come to Pendleton College?

The course is an ideal foundation for students wishing to enter the leisure/sports industry, the armed forces, police or fire brigade. It is also a good stepping stone for students who wish to continue on to the advanced level sport course.
What will I study?
There are six specialised modules which must be covered within the year. These are:
- The Sports Industry
- Body in Action
- Psychology for Sports Performance
- Practical Sport
- Health, Safety and Injury
- Fitness for Sport Performance
What will I achieve?
Employment in the sport and leisure industry, or progression to a higher level course.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed via assignment work, which apart from one externally-set assignment, is marked by the college staff. The assignments build towards a portfolio of evidence demonstrating full coverage of all the necessary outcomes.
What else will I do?
You may have the opportunity to visit a number of places such as Bolton Arena, Salford University and Wigan Rugby League club which all link in to modules taught on the course. There are also visits abroad to New York and Club La Santa, Lanzarote.
