On Tockwith Training

Provider description
Driver Training Services was Established in 1971 on a disused World War Two Airfield at Tockwith once used to train aircraft pilots. We are proud of our good reputation built up over the last 35+ years. We specialise in driver training and have invested our time and experience to offer the right training environment. We feel this positions us above the average driver trainer.

Over the last 20 years there have been many changes within the industry, some good and some not so good. We have witnessed increased customer awareness, regulation, and rising costs, unlike some of our competitors we have always been ready to modernise and change. This is why we are one of the handful of companies that can claim to have been successfully training HGV drivers for over 35 years.

In 1997 we moved from the Airfield Control Tower to larger building premises, this enabled the company to train lift truck operators to RTITB standards in house at our training centre.

In 2001 we left Tockwith and bought larger premises at Hessay much closer to York, and the company was renamed Tockwith Training Services to keep a link with our past. The site comprises of a large tarmac manoeuvring area and two new build industrial units for training purposes. TTS has had 15% year on year growth since moving to York. The company now has 8 full time instructors, but every customer is still assured of a professional, individually focused and an enjoyable training course, some things never change.
