Course description
The ‘Green Man' is an ancient, mythical and extremely intriguing motif, and is probably the most popular within medieval architecture. This three day course will provide a brief history of this traditional symbolic carving as well as an introduction to the tools and techniques of stone carving. Tom will guide you through all the processes to produce your own ‘Green Man' sculpture for the garden or home.

Materials/Items to Bring:
•Tools are available for use during the course.
•The price of the stone is not included, but may be purchased from the Studio at a cost approx £25 - £50
•Clothes should be comfortable and practical. Substantial shoes are essential.
•Please bring a pair of protective glasses or goggles and your own face-mask if you are sensitive to dust.
