This one day workshop is designed for managers responsible for leading and
developing records management services who want to practice and hone their
strategic planning and influencing skills.
The workshop will provide
participants with a strategic planning model together with a set of
practical techniques needed to build the plan. Though focused on records
management, the model and techniques are more generally applicable and
will equip participants to contribute to their organisation's own
strategic planning processes.

Consultant in
information systems for library, document and information management.
John
Davies has extensive international experience of leading records and
information management services. He worked as an archivist and records
manager in UK local government for over 10 years before moving to the
private sector where he worked in a wide variety of information roles in
the pharmaceutical and finance industries.
Before joining TFPL in 2004,
John was European Head of Archives and Records Management for the
investment bank, Credit Suisse First Boston.
He has been responsible
for records management functions throughout his career and has undertaken
a wide range of activities including: strategic development and
implementation of records management programmes in the UK, USA, and Europe
development of email and electronic records policy and strategies training
and coaching in records management
John studied at Sussex and Liverpool
Universities and has an MSc in Organisational Consulting from the Ashridge
Business School.
