Our distance learning MSc in Structural Molecular Biology provides graduate students with grounding in the structure of proteins, and the main techniques that are used to study protein structure.
About this course
There are some basic technical requirements for all our distance learning courses. All course correspondence will be electronically based. You will need:
* Regular access to a computer (PC, UNIX or Mac operating systems) capable of running forms and graphics browsers (e.g. Firefox, Netscape, MacWeb XEmacs, Mosaic).
* Reliable access to the internet.
* Some familiarity with installation of simple software packages and with ransferring/downloading data.
* Familiarity with E-mail.

MSc in Structural Molecular Biology
Course Content
The MSc in Structural Molecular Biology is a modular course. The course content is dependent upon the choice of modules but students must achieve a total of 180 credits including 60 credits earned from project work. Teaching
All teaching is carried out via the internet including: course material; submission of questions and work by email; and attendance during online tutorials. Some electronic journals are available via the Birkbeck Library.
Tutorials and interactive sessions take place over the web using virtual environments similar to chat rooms. The only equipment required is a standard PC or workstation and an Internet connection.
