  • I would recommend a student hall, because most of the Erasmus students are living in this halls and a lot of other students. For me it was good to have people around me, because I did'nt know anybody in London.

Do you have Computer Science skills? Would you like to improve them? This is the opportunity to continue your studies in this area.

The course focuses on the fundamental science behind computing, illustrated through practical work that can be appropriated by teachers for their own purposes.

For example, we will introduce concepts such as functions, state and memory through simple mechanisms and physical devices as well as simple programming languages, so that teachers can explore ways to teach these without having to subsume everything under full blown systems. We will also introduce the interaction between the concepts of 'languages' and 'machines' so that 'algorithms' can be explored as ways of driving machines through a series of states.

The course touches upon the ICT aspect of teaching within a Computer Science department.

As a student of this course you'll receive a free electronic textbook for every module.
