At Scuola Leonardo da Vinci, our Italian language courses are designed and engineered to meet several needs: depending on the number of classes per week, either in group or individual lessons.

All levels, from beginner to advanced, are available throughout the year with participation from Monday to Friday. The minimum age accepted at the school is 16 years old. The maximum number of students per class is 12 (10 in Siena); 5 in small groups.

Students who already know a bit of the language can start on any Monday of the year. Absolute Beginner courses have specific start dates. On the first day of school, students who are not absolute beginners will do a test and will be assigned to a class after the assesment of their level.

About this course

The super-intensive Italian course is our intensive course of 4 Italian lessons a day, together with 2 extra group lessons a day, giving a total of 30 Italian lessons a week.

The lessons are held Monday to Friday in groups made up of no more than 12 students. The lessons are led by different teachers, who deal with both the formal and more communicative aspects of the language.

The lessons start each Monday for students that already have some knowledge of the Italian language and each two weeks for students that are absolute beginners.

The super-intensive Italian course, due to its 2 extra hours of lessons, helps to quickly develop the practical, communication abilities of the students, dedicating special attention to the communicative aspects of the language.

If your aim is:
to speak in a more fluent and precise way, to widen your vocabulary, to feel more confident in your communication with others and to improve your understanding skills, and to achieve all of this in a short time, this is the ideal course for you.

Classes are composed of people from all over the world and from different age groups

Our teachers will follow your progress throughout your course and will discuss any aspects of the programme that you do not understand. At the end of each course and of each level, your progress will be evaluated with a written test.

What I would highlight: I have now been studying at the Leonardo da Vinci Scuola for 4 months and absolutely love it! I have met amazing people and learned from enthusiastic and motivating teachers. Course programme

Our teaching method is influenced by modern didactics and is designed according to the 'Concept of Foreign Languages' of the European Council and the guidelines of the ''Accademia Italiana di Lingua (AIL) ".

We follow a communicative method: from the first day of lessons and at each ability level, only Italian is spoken in class.
We put particular emphasis on spoken language and on communication, but also deal with the 4 base abilities (reading, writing, oral comprehension and speaking).

Lessons are interesting, interactive and also fun, organized in a relaxed atmosphere in which learning is done naturally. Text books are supported by authentic material, like newspapers, magazines and video, that facilitate learning about contemporary Italy and the many different aspects of Italian culture.

Our teachers, experts in teaching Italian to foreign students, are there for the students, to guide them, motivate them and help them in their learning.

In addition, through the years Scuola Leonardo da Vinci has developed its own teaching method. The books have been conceived for speeding up the learning process of Italian language. Grammar is presented in a logic and organized way, followed by examples and a wide range of practical exercises and short stories that give both students and teachers many opportunities for making conversation in Italian language.
