Course programme

To gain this qualification you must prove your competence in your job role and in your assessment show that you meet the required standards. The award consists of four units as a compulsory part of the full qualification and four optional units. The optional units allow you to choose the two which best reflect your job role.

NTS will provide you with a qualified assessor who will carry out assessments with you at your workplace and support you throughout the process of working towards completing this qualification.

Mandatory units (four units):

Optional units (choose four units):

  • Clean floors manually
  • Clean furniture, fittings and vertical surfaces manually

  • Clean items by washing processes
  • Press and finish simple garments and items
  • Repair, alter and maintain items
  • Prepare food and drinks for clients
  • Maintain hygiene in food storage, preparation and cooking
  • Prepare, cook and assemble food for service
  • Provide a table or tray service
  • Clean and service a range of areas
  • Administer patients appointments
  • Record, store and supply information using paper based filing systems
  • Enter, retrieve and print data in a database

In order to achieve an Apprenticeship, Key Skills (Communication Level 2 and Application of Level 1) and a Technical Certificate (GOAL Certificate in Support Serviced Level 2) are required to be added to this NVQ.
