After an initial induction and skills assessment, you will spend three full days a week working with an employer, learning and carrying out roles in a company. The job coach will train and support you to learn any new tasks. You will have a morning and a lunch break every day and a group tutorial session with your course team leader.
- Learning and carrying out real tasks in the workplace
- Social and communication skills – on the job
- Work etiquette, such as time keeping and personal appearance
- Maths/English Functional skills – at college, if appropriate
Supported internships is not qualification based; it focusses on you becoming work-ready wherever possible. We seek agreement from any employer that we engage with. You must be ready to gain real work skills or have the aspiration to gain paid employment. You should also be committed to attending at least 90% of the programme and have demonstrated excellent punctuality in a previous programme.
