This certificate is for those who wish to support learners in a learning environment, working under the guidance of a qualified teacher. The Supporting Adults and Young people in Essential Skills qualifications have been developed to help those supporting, or working as, essential skills practitioners to take on more responsibility and progress in their career.This qualification helps you build on your knowledge as a basic skills teacher, and develop your skills based on current teaching best practice. This qualification is ideal for those who are delivering numeracy, literacy and ESOL at level 1 or below and need a recognised qualification to work as an essential skills practitioner. You could be working in a range of places from colleges and the workplace to the community and secure establishments.
