Costs and equipment The course is fully funded for those aged 16-18, however there may be an employer contribution for those aged 19+. There is no upper age limit for Apprenticeship funding. Course programme
The Intermediate Apprenticeship covers legislation, policies and procedures, the role of the Teaching Assistant, child protection and risk management, encouraging independence and positive behaviour, children with communication difficulties, being an effective team member and reflective practitioner and activities to support children's learning.
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools contains the following mandatory units:
- Child and young person development
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
- Help improve own and team practice in schools
- Maintain and support relationships with children and young people
- Support children and young people’s health and safety
