Swedish Body Massage Level 3 VTCT Certificate

Course Overview
As this is an intensive part time course of study, students will be required to carryout additional practical and theoretical study at home.
As this is a vocational course of study students are required to initially practice all treatments on each other until proficient.
Following practice students will be required to work on all types of clients and genders in the RWE.

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required for all vocational qualifications.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over 36 weeks. Attendance will be on Wednesdays, 6.00pm â€" 9.00pm commencing in September 2010. All practical work will be carried out in the College's Beauty Treatment Rooms.

• Hygiene (VR2/VR74)
• Legislation (VR2/VR74)
• Consultation
• Pre/after care
• Body Massage Techniques
• Product Knowledge
• Anatomy & Physiology

During your course of study we occasionally organise external enrichment activities i.e. workshops, product knowledge or training from various companies. Some of these companies offer this input free of charge, some do charge a fee.

Qualification Aims
IIHHT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage
VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards.

Assessments/Examinations
Continual written and practical assessments/assignments in both theory and practical aspects of the course.
Practical assessments are carried out in a realistic work environment (RWE) on fee-paying clients. A portfolio of evidence is compiled throughout the course and submitted for final verification.
Health & Safety, Security and Employment standards are assessed by external written papers. As such this will involve completion of home assignments working towards the multiple choice written question paper.
