This massage course is tailored to suit the needs of both beginners and more experienced therapists and will provide you with a practical and theoretical understanding of Body Massage. The full body massage course is mainly ‘hands on’ pairing up to give and receive a massage. You will be taught to conduct all aspects, backed up with written material throughout, from consultation to being able to carry out a full body massage using professional techniques. As a key element to our teaching is to establish good working habits at the training stage – you will also practice posture and mobility of the therapist aimed at enabling you to work successfully in Beauty Salons, Spas, or freelance. The course also provides a good grounding for those choosing to achieve further qualifications in holistic therapies.
• Anatomy & Physiology of: Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Digestive, Renal, Endocrine, Reproduction, Nervous, Olfactory & Respiratory Systems. Plus positions & functions of Facial + Body muscles & Joints structure
• Structure of tissue, lifestyle patterns and effects plus psychological & physiological effects of massage
• Consultation theory, Contra-indications, Client preparation, Record keeping. Aftercare, Homecare, Post treatment advice
• Professionalism, Standards for salon Hygiene & Legal requirements for practicing and setting up in business
• Pre-Heat theory, treatments & massage mediums
• G5, Audio-sonic & Infra red theory & demonstration
• Massage technique training in effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, vibrations and frictions;
• Therapist posture & stance
• Continuous demonstrations in all massage aspects for Scalp, Face, Chest, Arms, Abdomen, Back, Thigh and Leg
• Continuous learner practice in consultation, treatment room set-up & all massage techniques
• Final practical assessment

Dress Code
Salon uniform, soft soled shoes, hair tied back off the face, light day make up, no jewellery. If you have no uniform you can wear a plain black top and plain black bottoms.

Short & Holistic Course Fees Some Short and Holistic courses are funded through the Learning & Skills Council. For those that are, the regulations for entitlement for concessionary fees are complex but in essence students who are settled in the UK or from the EU can qualify.
If you are a refugee or asylum seeker you may also qualify depending on your visa status.

Privately Funded Courses
LCBT Certificated courses are not eligible for Concessionary fees. The course information will tell you whether it is an LCBT Certificated Course. Please see the Fee Calculator to find out the prices of the course of your choice.
LCBT Certificated courses are validated by the Guild of Professional Therapists, and therefore qualify for professional indemnity insurance.
Kit Costs
All students are required to pay a charge for materials, books, uniform and where necessary a kit. These are costs that the college pays on behalf of the student and costs must be paid prior to the course commencing.
Entry Requirements
Some courses may require previous experience or qualifications – please see individual course information for further details. Where prior qualifications are required, you will need to produce a certificate.
Refunds
We regret that course fees, or deposits can only be refunded in full if a course is cancelled by the college for any reason.
We regret that we cannot provide refunds for deposits, tuition fees, kits or examination fees in cases of illness, personal problems, relocation or change of work or any reason which may mean you have to cancel or leave your course.
The same applies to overseas students who have been unable to obtain a visa.
